What do we know about the tradition of putting not What do we know about the tradition of putting notes in the Kotel? When does it start? What do people write in them?
Have you noticed the writings etched in the wall?
When you look carefully at the Western wall, you notice names of people written on the stones. They are higher than the level of the plaza today as they were done when the surface where Jews were praying was higher, before 1967.
Most of them are written in Hebrew, names of people to pray for.
They are found all along the Western and also the southern wall. No one really knows how old are the earliest ones, but at least several of hundreds of years.
It's probably the source of the tradition of writing notes.

It's interesting to try and identify the names and maybe find some stories of the Jews who visited the wall.

I would ask them what they were praying for?
And what do you pray for?

One of my favorite hikes near Jerusalem is Sataf, One of my favorite hikes near Jerusalem is Sataf, especially around this time of year when the rains have come and flowers start showing. Nature is doing its thing.

When hiking and seeing nature in Israel we can understand the Tanach (Bible) much better as it was written in these places and relates to the nature of the land.
Probably one of my favorite psalms is 128.

Blessed the man who fears God.
The blessing is that you should eat the fruit of your labor, be prosper and blessed.
It continues to to one of my favorite images - your children will be like olive shoots around your table.
What a beautiful picture of a large family sitting around the table, just like the olive tree in this picture that is surrounded by its shoots.

It ends with the blessings of Zion and to see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. I posted also the picture of Jerusalem we saw from the distance.

May you live to see your children’s children.
peace be on Israel. Shalom Al Israel

It's not every day that I guide a king. Even thoug It's not every day that I guide a king.
Even though I've met many heads of states, presidents and other celebrities. A king was my first time.

I just finished a 4 day delegation, through the MFA, with his Majesty King Zwelibanzi Dalindyebo of AbaThembu in South Africa.
He's an independent thinker and is willing to speak up for what he believes in, even if it's against the political party ruling SA.
But most important, he was curious. He is willing to meet and see things in his own eyes before he makes up his mind.
It was really magnificent to see him connect to people. Whether they are officials or just people who bumped into us in the street.

It's not what I imagined when I was asked to guide a royal family. It was much more meaningful and warm then I had thought.
It left me with many thoughts and moments to cherish.

It was also good to know that people of SA are not their government. We have a lot of work to do to get to the people.

Thank you @we_r_israel for the trust and the opportunity

What a moving day. The king spoke so clearly about the moral stand that he believes people should take after witnessing what happened here on October 7.

Hopefully this message will continue on and open the eyes of the Government in SA and those who think these terrorists are freedom fighters

I was asked to motivate them and inspire them to have a more meaningful service.
While I've spoken in front of groups like this many times, this was the first time I was asked to use my personal stories and talk about myself and the ways I found the power to get through tough times and challenges life brings upon us.
It's the first time I shared my story this way, with total strangers. This forced me to put thoughts and feelings into words, which I must say wasn't easy... But I felt a huge relief after.
I got a nice thank you from them and good feedback. See when the next time is..
