Enjoyed walking through the art galleries in Jaffa Enjoyed walking through the art galleries in Jaffa.
One thing I like about it in particular is the thought it inspires in people.
The thought behind an original piece, when the frame or the simple window act as a canvas and encourages you to look at them differently.
Or the ability to look at such different people sharing the most simple needs that are common to every human being.

I like the ability to stop for a drink, to look at the water or see the sunset - and realize that life is a piece of art, constantly evolving

Together with a few colleagues I participated this Together with a few colleagues I participated this morning in a tour of the president's residence in Jerusalem.
Apparently, the presidential house is open for visitors and has a great Archaeology collection as well as Israeli art and just beautiful grounds we usually only see part of on the news...

It was beautiful, exciting and interesting all at the same time..

Apparently this is a very powerful tool. Reviews on TripAdvisor (and Facebook) go a long way.

While most of my business is based on the word of mouth, I just had clients who booked me based on my profile and reviews they read.
I realized how important it is to keep up the reviews too.
So... Have you written your review yet? 😉

I appreciate you taking the time to review our experience together 🙏🏼

At the end of the day I passed by Sami's shop just At the end of the day I passed by Sami's shop just as he was closing for the day.

Mr. Sami Barsum, 87 years old, was born in the British mandate Palestine and works as a tailor in the same shop since 1959 in the old city, under the Jordanians and now the Israelis.

He serves as the head of his church, the Syrianic orthodox church and speaks fluent Aramaic as well as Hebrew, Arabic and English.

Sami is always welcoming and full of stories.
It's not uncommon to see Hasidic yeshiva students visiting him to ask questions about Aramaic, his mother tongue (& the language the Babylonian Talmud is written in).
Sami has had many dignitaries visit him over the years and I love to stop by with my guests to listen to his stories and we can never leave without a candy from the plate on the table 🍬

Wishing him many more years in good health 💐

November 29, 1947 was celebrated by the Jewish com November 29, 1947 was celebrated by the Jewish community in Palestine under the British mandate as a great moment.

The partition plan of Palestine, known as UN resolution 181, was the final offer voted upon in the general assembly, and suggested separate states, Jewish and Arab in the land.

Anyone who knows the layout of the land and the history understands the problems of the plan. The high mountains with the strategic height would be given to the Arabs who could threaten the coastal plain where most Jews lived. The Jewish state would not only be in the low grounds but also would be mostly in the desert that wasn't settled at the time. And Jerusalem, the dream of generations, wouldn't be part of the Jewish state.
Yet, the Jews accept - it was better than nothing. Realizing the aftermath of the holocaust, the leaders of the Zionist movement understood they can't give up on this.
The Arabs rejected the plan. They were the majority, and with the support of the Arab world, had no reason to give up on something they would be able to take by power shortly after the British leave.

The war broke out the next day.

Since then, there hasn't been any plan that was accepted by both sides. Many would say the Arabs have rejected any plan, missing many opportunities, thinking they can gain more by violence. Time after time again, the Palestinian leadership has led their people to more suffering.
Unfortunately, we're still in this.

In Israel, we celebrate and continue life. Israel has since made peace with several Arab countries who realize how much the relationship can contribute to both sides.

In the last few months, I've guided delegations and visitors from Turkey, Bahrain, UAE and other countries. Some were very excited to be here. Unfortunately I can't always share pictures on social media of the people who come. But I can share that it was exciting and they appreciated Israel very much.

Hopefully we'll be able to celebrate more of these relationships and even in public

Petra is one of the New 7 wonders of the world and Petra is one of the New 7 wonders of the world and there's a good reason for that!
It's a wonderful moment as you walk through the Siq and the 'Hazneh' (treasury) is exposed slowly.
Then you can explore the rest of the ancient city, the Roman theater and the tombs carved out from the reddish stone.
Ride a camel or donkey, or just take it in by foot.

All of this is doable in a day or two-day trip from Israel as part of a visit to the region.

Don't miss #petrabynight and wadi Rum!
